"I rented the La Jolla property for my wedding
in October 2006. I have nothing but good things
to say about this place! The house was beautifully
furnished and the outside grounds were gorgeous.
It felt like I was staying in someone's home and
did not have the sterile hotel feel. The house was
just a short distance to the ocean. The manager
was great to deal with. She promptly returned all
my calls and really made the extra effort to ensure
that everything was alright. This location played
a large part in making my wedding reception magical.
I would definitely recommend this place to everyone."

"Staying at Casa Ladera was like walking through an
enchanted looking glass into a world of elegance, tranquility,
history and magic. I loved the time I spent there this past
fall. From the very moment I entered the 'Casa' I felt felt
at home and yet pampered at the same time. The white bathrobes
were a nice touch. The sunsets were phenomenal and the gardens
simply gorgeous. I made a point of rising just before sunrise
almost every day just so I could drink in the view of the
lower terrace from my window before the contrasting light
of the rising sun set in. The privacy and yet close proximity
to the Village of La Jolla was perfect for us. Casa Ladera
truly is an amazing vacation rental." -- WH,

"This house is a gem of California from an earlier
and more gracious era. My wife and just spent our 23rd
anniversary there, and found it a delight. The architecture
is pre-war Early California Mission style, with typical
tile roof, hardwood floors, and stucco exterior and plaster
interior walls. Decor is a well-executed eclectic blend
of European and Chinese antiques, with modern conveniences
like plasma tvs in every bedroom. We counted three separate
levels of gardens, and each seems hidden from the others,
so you have the experience of discovery around every corner.
The house is laid out very well for entertaining, with
many natural and private gathering places, and even with
maximum occupancy, no one will feel crowded. There always
seems to be a place to hide if you want privacy. The kitchen
is small but modern, and the cupboards are stocked with
enough very good dishes and stemware to entertain a small
army. What stands out about this house is the sense of
peace and graciousness it seems to exude. This is not
the sort of house to invite your hard drinking friends
and turn up the music. This is a retreat to hide away
if you want rest and quiet medicine for your soul in tastefully
beautiful surroundings. My wife and I unreservedly recommend
it."
